On 9th September 2016 Roland will be hosting a 24 hour online music festival. There will be video streaming from VIP Events in 8 major cities around the world (including: Tokyo, Paris, Los Angeles, Berlin, Brussels, Toronto, New York etc) Recently Roland kinda teased us with the announcement of a celebration of their classic drum machine TR-909 (33 years). This event looks like Roland will announce more than maybe a new version of the TR-909. Up to 30 new products could be announced including: synths, amps, drums, piano/ keyboard etc. Will they Roland re-create the TR-909 like they did with the TR-808? Will they add more synths to their boutique range? Or will it be a completely new synth? Another version of the V-Piano or a completely new piano? We'll have to wait & see. Sennheiser is well known for making headphones etc. Have Sennheiser created the most expensive pair of headphones in the world? Sennheiser Orpheus 2, these headphones come with a Marble motorised basestation with tubes. It certainly looks impressive & had some very good reviews. However, I'm not sure about the price. If you would like to purchase these they are sold around $50,000 (No that is not a typo). As far as i know these are NOT limited edition. Would you want them to be for that price? If you are a musician you know how important your ears are. Performing at live concerts etc can be very loud. The last thing anybody wants is to damage their hearing by being exposed to deafening music. The Musicians' Hearing Health scheme will allow musicians to affordable hearing assessments & bespoke hearing protection.  If you interested you will have to pay around £40 (£30 for Musician Union members). The assessments will take place in various cities in the UK. More details on the Help Musicians UK website As a musician i think this a good idea. In 2014 i wrote a blog post regarding how Jack White a his record label 'Third Man Records' brought out a Vinyl album that displayed a hologram as the record played. Jack White & 'Third Man Records' made history last month as part of the labels Seventh Anniversary by being the first to play a vinyl record in space. It took a few years of planning to achieve this. A custom 'Space Proof' turnable was launched, which was attached to a high-altitude balloon (named: ICARUS CRAFT). The record played was: 'A Glorious Dawn'- CARL SAGAN. It played for around 1 Hour & 20 Mins whilst ascending. The ICARUS CRAFT reached a peak altitude of around: 94,413 feet. The flight time was around: 1:21:20 before the balloon burst & fell back down to earth. I have to say i admire Jack White & his team because they are not afraid to push boundaries.
