ROLAND ARE BACK WITH 2 NEW SYNTH PRODUCTS?

ROLAND have teased everyone again with their: 'The Future. Redefined' page. 4 dates: 26th May- Drums/ Percussion 1st June- Guitar & Pro Video 20th June-Synthesizer 23rd June-Guitar Last year ROLAND released the boutique range: TB-03 & TR-09. Both were new versions of the classic  bass & drums machine: TB-303 & TB-909. So what do you think ROLAND have got instore for us this year? Well, they may carry on with the boutique line, maybe something for the Aira range, cloudbased software service (RolandCloud) or 2 brand new synths. I'll be honest 2 new brand new synths from Roland would be nice. Something thats not Juno or Jupiter etc. Something completely new.  We'll have to wait till the end of June to see what ROLAND have planned Until next time Law Official Website LW Music Services Twitter Facebook (Law) Facebook (LW Music Services) Instagram Youtube

THE END OF THE MP3?

The Fraunhofer Institute for Intergrated Circuits who helped fund the mp3 format have said that its "licensing program for certain mp3 related patents and software of Technicolor and Fraunhofer IIS has been terminated'. I remember back in 2007 when I bought my first MP3 player. It was so very small & could hold up to 1GB worth of music. Ok the quality of the music wasn't ever going to be the best but it was great because the device was so portable. It could hold over 100 songs. As time moved on Apple had released the iPod, iPod nano, iPod touch & pod shuffle. Apple had their own music format  AAC or ALAC. This is better quality. Around 2009 (I think it was) I bought an iPod touch (32 GB). For me this was even better. The music quality was better & now I could hold up to over 1000 songs. Today the AAC or ALAC seem still to be going strong. As well as AAC or ALAC you have also got FLAC, WAVE, AIFF (plus others) & the new format MQA. Digital music seems

RIP ROBERT MILES!

Last Wednesday (10th May) i remember checking my phone to find out that trance producer DJ ROBERT MILES had died. Back in 1996, as a 16 year old i remember hearing the instrumental song 'Children'-ROBERT MILES. It was a trance anthem & to me still is. A trance classic. It reached NO 1 in many countries. One of my favourite ROBERT MILES songs is: 'One & One' (feat. Maria Nayler) Both songs taken from the album: 'Dreamland'.
