Everyone, this week's FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK is the very talented  singer-songwriter, musician  & producer JELLY CLEAVER JELLY CLEAVER Please introduce yourself I’m a singer-songwriter, jazz guitarist and producer. I’m also an activist and this really influences my music and the lyrics I write. I love lots of different genres so have quite an eclectic style and like to throw myself into different music scenes. I’m really into the jazz scene and the punk/DIY scene in London at the moment.   How did you get into music? I started playing guitar as soon as I could hold one pretty much because my dad was a guitar teacher, and I’ve always had a really deep connection to music. I’ve tried lots of different aspects of music out though, from leading an African singing and drumming ensemble to starting a rock band. These days guitarists have quite a bit of choice when it comes to guitar effects. They can choose between hardware or software or both. Virtual software seems to be used a lot more now. One popular guitar software is POSTIVE GRID BIAS. This month they are releasing BIAS FX 2. It comes with lots of good features: GUITAR MATCH- Turn your guitar into another (eg, your fender into a RR Signature V) AMPS CABINETS/ MICS PEDAL EFFECTS EFFECT MODELLERS TONECLOUD- Create & share your custom guitar presets STUDIO EFFECTS BIAS FX 2 comes in 3 different version (Standard, Professional & Elite). I think 2 versions might have been enough.  I think today it's not easy to choose which guitar software to have. BIAS FX 2 could be good option if you are looking for an all in one guitar fx package. I like the Guitar Match idea, however BLUECAT AUDIO has the software 'Re-guitar' which is kinda a similar idea.  If possible its best to try different softwar

As Vinyl sales seems to be rising, the need for turnables is probably on the rise too. These days there are quite a few different turntables to choose from. PRO-JECT AUDIO SYSTEMS create various different styles of turnables. One style they are create are the ARTIST themed turntables. If you are a BEATLES, GUNS N ROSES, ROLLING STONES etc fan then there could be a turnable for you If you are a BEATLES fan & looking for something unique then 'The Yellow Submarine' turntable might appeal. Shaped like a the submarine with the round turntable on top. Certainly looks eye-catching. Back in the early 90s the I was about 11 or 12, was kinda into Rave music. One of the songs I remember hearing was 'Charly'-THE PRODIGY. They went on to have hits such: 'Out Of Space', 'Everybody in the Place' etc. It wasn't until 'Firestarter' & 'Breathe', released around 96/97, that THE PRODIGY started to get noticed a lot more. Flint was now more of the lead singer of the band. (Before he was more a dancer). I remember as a teenager seeing the videos for 'Firestarter' & Breathe' with Flints colourful punk spiky hair. When watching live performances on tv of THE PRODIGY Flint had quite a stage presence. he could certainly entertain the crowd. He was a pioneer & legend. THE PRODIGY are known for being one of the best electronic live acts. I can see why. Last week I was shocked to find out that he had died.
