I play piano and mostly work as a solo performer, but more recently have performed with The English Jazz Orchestra in London. I started singing in public when I was three years old and found that I loved it, so my parents encouraged it. When I was five, I started learning the piano and eventually began songwriting in my teens. It took me along time to feel confident about my abilities, so I didn’t start my music degree until I was twenty-five. Everyone, This weeks FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK is Scottish born singer-songwriter DEREK MARTIN. 1.Please introduce yourself My name is Derek Martin I am 39 years old and from Ayrshire in Scotland. I started writing 3 years ago and self recorded my debut album Dreaming Out Loud released this Year. 2. How did you get into music? Growing up we always had the classic records records in the house - Bowie Stones Beatles but only really appreciated them when I was about 15 years old and heard Oasis Definitely Maybe and the explosion of guitar bands in the 90's. I think every kid wanted a guitar and wanted to be in a band. 3. What instruments do you play?   Guitar  4. Who are your influences? Springsteen Stones Beatles Bowie Oasis Weller Smiths and so on 5. Tell us about your latest release When I hear the songs collectively I think they describe what has happened to the 15 year old kid in the last 20 years. They are songs about life

Please introduce yourself We are Copperworm, an alternative rock band based in the North West (UK) and we're made up of Peter Wolfe, Brent Copson and Andy Wood Originally formed in 2015 in Warrington by Peter and Andy, we reformed 6 months later after our original bassist left to live in Columbia and then our new bass player Brent joined the band  2. How did you get into music? We all got into it different ways but each of us were in bands previously. Peter was in a band when he lived in Kent called the Blue Room mostly doing rock covers but some but before that leaned acoustic blues from  friend he made in a pub he worked in. Music streaming seems to be getting more & more popular these days. QOBUZ & TIDAL already offer hi-res streaming. Now AMAZON could be joining in too. Rumours are that if AMAZON do offer hi-res streaming then it could be priced lower than QOBUZ & TIDAL & offer the same quality of audio. Also, if AMAZONS catalogue matches the other 2 streaming services then QOBUZ & TIDAL may have to think about their pricing.
