To accompany this album he is set to release a limited edition acoustic guitar called 'EQUALS EDITION SIGNATURE GUITAR'. There will be only 3000 acoustic guitars made.  As you most of you are probably aware singer ADELE is back with her brand new album '30'.  As I'm writing this the album is currently No 1 in the UK Charts.  ADELE has managed to convince SPOTIFY to remove the shuffle option from her album pages (for premium SPOTIFY subscription). If you want to shuffle the songs on the album you have to take an extra step.  I do kinda like this idea because when artists/ bands etc make an album sometimes they tell a story. Artists work hard on making an album. This is what I think ADELE was trying to explain to SPOTIFY.  Hi! Everyone, As you maybe aware Microsoft announced Windows 11 & Apple announced OS Monterey recently.  Let's start with Windows 11. In 2015 Windows 10 was released. I'll be honest I didn't upgrade to Windows 10 for a few years. All my music production software was working with Windows 7. Then, as time went on some companies started to drop Windows 7 support & my computer needed a new graphics card etc. Thats when it was time for me to upgrade to Windows 10. The important thing is to make sure that all your software will work with Windows 11. My advice is to probably wait until you know that all your software etc will work on Windows 11 before upgrading. Now onto OS Monterey. As far was I'm aware Apple announce a new OS every year. I think it can be hard to keep up. I don't upgrade the Mac OS every year. Again, it's what software you use & whether it will work with OS Monterey. For example if you are using Logic Pro X you need OS 11.0 (Big Sur) or

 Recently Apple announced: The Apple M1 pro & M1 Max. They also announced that Logic Pro X has been updated. When I first started recording my music I used a 4 track tape (which i've still got, I think). I remember as a teenager recording a guitar, keyboard & vocals (we are talking in the 90s now). You were kinda limited to 4 tracks. Then once finished your song bouncing it down to 2 track. You would have to use cassettes to record onto. These days we mainly use a computer (I know that some people still record using maybe a four track or 12 track recorder etc. Thats fine).  TASCAM are celebrating there 50th Anniversary. IK MULTIMEDIA have bought out 4 emulations of TASCAMS classic tape machines.  ANTARES is back with another vocal plugin called 'AUTOTUNE SLICE'. It is a vocal sampler/ synthesizer. It allows you to slice up your vocals & other audio & turn them into sampled instrument.This means you can create melodies, chords etc out of vocal parts. It includes: 14 effects  200 vocal samples & presets  This does look a fun plugin.  Hi! Everyone. Well, it's a been a while since THE SOLAR PROJECT have released any music. THE SOLAR PROJECT are back with a brand new song called: 'Life Goes On'. Firstly I would like to say thank you to everyone for their patience & kind support 😃😃 The song started back in Summer 2018. I had quite a bit written. I felt something was missing. I out it to one side & kept coming back to it. Maybe I was overthinking it, I don't know. It was'nt until this year that I finally decided to release the song. The video contains videos & photos of trips to Birmingham (Between 2013-2018). I use to go to Birmingham sometimes once a month for years on the train. I used to enjoy visiting the various different places etc. Since the pandemic I've not been.  As we know pianos usually have 88 keys (just over 7 octaves). Well, Wayne Stuart, a piano maker from Australia has created the first ever 9 octave piano. He hand built the piano in his independent studio in New South Wales. The piano itself is kinda like a concert grand. The piano was commissioned for around £160,000 & is currently at: Beleura House & Gardens in Victoria, Australia. It took 18 months to build.  This piano looks & sounds impressive.  A synth plugin from ARTURIA seems to have leaked on 'Twitch'.  Jack White has announced he is opening a ‘Third Man Records’ store & Venue in SoHo, London. This will be his first UK store. The store is due to open 25th September 2021.  This will not just be another ‘Vinyl’ Shop.  Recently after a structural modification to the GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE, it has been making a kinda drone sound in strong winds. People have said they can hear the drone a few miles away. Irmandy Wicaksono is a research assistant at MIT MEDIA LAB & he has created a 'Knitted Keyboard' that you can play, folded or rolled up, worn etc. Features include: 5 Octave piano Sensitive touch etc The nearest keyboard I've seen to this is the 'Roli Seaboard'.  Recently Apple announced that they would be adding spatial audio to the latest version of Logic Pro. This follows  the roll-out of spatial audio to Apple Music streaming services.  This would mean that in Logic Pro mix engineers would be able to mix spatial audio without any additional. Some audio songs are mixed to create a kinda 3D sound.  As a mix engineer myself I think this is a nice idea & maybe worth experimenting. It does look like a really nice controller.  It features: SSL NATIVE CHANNEL STRIP 2 BUS COMPRESSOR 2 SSL PLUGIN MIXER (SSL 360º) SWITCH BETWEEN 3 DIFFERENT DAWS USB etc Although it looks a good controller, at the moment it doesn't work with third party plugins.  Recently, I was asked to review the plugin 'INFILTRATOR' created by DEVIOUS MACHINES.  What is the plugin 'Infiltrator'? It's a multi-effects sequencer plugin. The first time I tried this I was like "WOW", this plugin offers a lot.  It features:  28 EFFECTS (Delay, Reverb, Flanger, Phaser, Pitch Shifting, Distortion, Filters, FM, Formant, Looper, Comb, EQ, Pan, Ring Modulation, Chorus,Compressor, Overdrive etc) 10 SLOTS so that you can have 10 effects at the same time MODULATION- Draw in Envelopes, Rhythmic Modulations etc in the Curve Editor 32 STEP SEQUENCER- Trigger any of up to 10 effects on any given step 750 Presets etc If you are into glitch effects or looking for multi-effect plugin then I would recommend looking at 'Infiltrator'. I really like this plugin it offers a lot.  I tried 'Infiltrator' on one of my songs & used some of the effects with automation which worked really well.  Would I recommend 'Infiltrator'? Abso

 This 91' Gibson Les Paul Goldtop could be one of the most rarest in the 'Hall of Fame'. The guitar was signed by music legends in 1992 at BOB DYLAN'S 30th Anniversary Concert. Although the MMXX- T-APE looks like a cassette tape it is a kinda synth?  It's a bytebeat synth sequencer.  It kinda works like a granular sampler.  LOU OTTENS was a Dutch Engineer who invented the cassette tape (& helped develop the compact disc) I remember as a child having cassette tapes (I've still got some cassette tapes). Remembering the days when you would listen to the radio & waiting until your favourite song came on & then making sure you pressed record at the right time (when the radio DJ was'nt talking over the top of it, lol). When I was a teenager at college studying music i recorded my music onto a four-track recorder (I think I've still got it somewhere & maybe some of the cassette tapes with my compositions on).  If you use Cubase, Wavelab or both you will know that you have to have a USB licenser dongle. Therefore taking up a USB port on your pc or Mac. (I was once in situation where I needed to take my laptop with Cubase onto a place that is around 35 miles away from home. I get there & what have I forgotten? The USB elicenser  dongle to open Cubase. That is very frustrating! There are probably other musicians, producers etc that have gone somewhere with the laptop etc & forgotten the USB Elicenser dongle) The other week STEINBERG (finally) announced that it would be ditching the USB Elicenser dongle & using another copy protection system.  SPOTIFY has announce that later this year they will be rolling out lossless streaming. (As of writing this, no date has been confirmed). This is something ( I think) Spotify users have requested quite a bit.  Lossless streaming is already available on Amazon & Tidal.  On 22nd Feb 2021 a video appears on DAFT PUNKS youtube channel called 'Epilogue'. The video shows the duo wearing their space-age helmets & leather jackets walking around a desert. It features a scene from their film 'Electroma'. You can also see title card (on the video) that says '1993-2021'. Their publicist confirmed that the duo have split after 28 years.  DAFT PUNK became popular in the late 90s on the 'French House' scene. Over the years they have had quite a few very successful singles & albums. They have inspired musicians, bands etc around the globe.  I think it's a shame they have split up.  The audio world the other week was saddened to learn that Audio Equipment Inventor  RUPERT NEVE had died. In 1961 RUPERT NEVE found his own company 'NEVE ELECTRONICS'.  NEVE known for Mixing Consoles, preamplifiers (Most influential 1073), EQ's etc.  NEVE consoles are used all round the world.  Bands & Artists such as: QUEEN, DAVID BOWIE, LED ZEPPLIN, DEEP PURPLE etc.  I use some NEVE software sometimes when mixing. One of my favourite compressors is the NEVE 33609 (I use the software UAD version.  Nowadays there are quite a few music composers, producers, mix engineers, mastering engineers etc that use dual display with their computer. A few years ago I started using dual display with Cubase & I find it very helpful to have a the mix console on one screen & arrange page on the other.  I've also seen where composers etc have used 3 or 4 screens (If you are composing for TV or film etc I think 3 or 4 screens is a good idea, so you can see exactly wast going on). Imagine having 7 screens? Not for a computer. This is a laptop.  EXPANSCAPE have released  a prototype of a laptop called AURORA 7 with 7 Screens. Now I don't think would ever need 7 screens for music production. You never know some composers, music producers etc might like the idea of having 7 screens.
