 As some of you maybe aware that I am a fan of Steinberg Software.  LOU OTTENS was a Dutch Engineer who invented the cassette tape (& helped develop the compact disc) I remember as a child having cassette tapes (I've still got some cassette tapes). Remembering the days when you would listen to the radio & waiting until your favourite song came on & then making sure you pressed record at the right time (when the radio DJ was'nt talking over the top of it, lol). When I was a teenager at college studying music i recorded my music onto a four-track recorder (I think I've still got it somewhere & maybe some of the cassette tapes with my compositions on).  If you use Cubase, Wavelab or both you will know that you have to have a USB licenser dongle. Therefore taking up a USB port on your pc or Mac. (I was once in situation where I needed to take my laptop with Cubase onto a place that is around 35 miles away from home. I get there & what have I forgotten? The USB elicenser  dongle to open Cubase. That is very frustrating! There are probably other musicians, producers etc that have gone somewhere with the laptop etc & forgotten the USB Elicenser dongle) The other week STEINBERG (finally) announced that it would be ditching the USB Elicenser dongle & using another copy protection system.  SPOTIFY has announce that later this year they will be rolling out lossless streaming. (As of writing this, no date has been confirmed). This is something ( I think) Spotify users have requested quite a bit.  Lossless streaming is already available on Amazon & Tidal.  On 22nd Feb 2021 a video appears on DAFT PUNKS youtube channel called 'Epilogue'. The video shows the duo wearing their space-age helmets & leather jackets walking around a desert. It features a scene from their film 'Electroma'. You can also see title card (on the video) that says '1993-2021'. Their publicist confirmed that the duo have split after 28 years.  DAFT PUNK became popular in the late 90s on the 'French House' scene. Over the years they have had quite a few very successful singles & albums. They have inspired musicians, bands etc around the globe.  I think it's a shame they have split up.
