Recently Apple updated their Garageband app. I thought I would try the latest version on the iPad (there is a version on the iPhone) & see what I thought. I have to say its ok.
There does seem to be some good sounds on there. I think what appeals is that its got a few sounds & drums etc. As of writing this, the GarageBand app is free to download. That makes it to me appealing. I think even if you paid £2 or £3 for the app its still probably worth the money.

If you are looking for an app to make music & not wanting really to spend much money then I would recommend checking out Garageband.
