ANALOG FUSION?

As some of you may or may not know, I'm a fan of synths. The brand FINGERSONIC have announced a brand new polyphonic hardware synth: ANALOGFUSION.
ANALOGFUSION is a hybrid synth.
Its features 2 separate engines- Analog & Digital (or you could combine them both)

Other features include:

  • 37 keys
  • 14 track step sequencer
  • FX
  • USB
  • LCD Display etc
This synth is due for release Summer 2019

This is not really the first ever hybrid synth. Back in 2015 ROLAND bought out the JDXI. There were 2 versions of this: JDXI & JDXA.
Ive played the ROLAND JDXI a few times & i kinda liked it.

I think a hybrid synth is a good idea. Will the ANALOGFUSION be compared to the JDXI? It could be,  I'm not sure. Looking at the ANALOGFUSION at the moment i think i prefer the JDXI. Hmmmm!

Until next time

FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK: JELLY CLEAVER

Hi! Everyone, this week's FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK is the very talented  singer-songwriter, musician  & producer JELLY CLEAVER JELLY CLEAVER Please introduce yourself I’m a singer-songwriter, jazz guitarist and producer. I’m also an activist and this really influences my music and the lyrics I write. I love lots of different genres so have quite an eclectic style and like to throw myself into different music scenes. I’m really into the jazz scene and the punk/DIY scene in London at the moment.   How did you get into music? I started playing guitar as soon as I could hold one pretty much because my dad was a guitar teacher, and I’ve always had a really deep connection to music. I’ve tried lots of different aspects of music out though, from leading an African singing and drumming ensemble to starting a rock band. I just love music in all its forms.   What instruments do you play? Guitar’s my first instrument but when I’m reco...

LESS IS MORE

When mixing you need to create space. It's so easy to keep adding different instruments when recording. However, when it comes to mixing you'll probably end up with 2 or more instruments fighting for the same frequency. So what do you do? Well, Firstly it depends on the instruments. Sometimes you may have to be harsh & think: "Do i really need these 2 parts or can i mute one (or even delete)?" This is what i normally do. Now maybe you're thinking: "What about using EQ?" Or "Why not use panning?" Yes i could use these tools. However is this additional sound going to add anything to the mix? Is this part necessary? If not, then im afraid the part either gets muted or deleted. A few days ago i was recording some vocals, for a middle 8 (on a new song). Let's just say i got a bit carried away & ended up recording a few harmony parts too many. I can tell you now that some of those harmony parts will probably be muted. (Why were thos...
