TR-808 DRUM MACHINE 40TH ANNIVERSARY!

In 1980 ROLAND introduced the TR-808 Drum Machine to the world. When it was first released it wasn't a commercial success. Just as the 808 was to be discontinued the HIP-HOP & DANCE scene started to use the Drum Machine a lot more. 

The dance band 808 STATE took their name from the drums machine. 

These days an 'Original' TR-808 can cost up to a few thousand pounds. ROLAND also bought out an updated version of the 808 called TR-08.  There are also imitation/ clones that other manufacturers have made & also 808 sample libraries.

I think this is a classic drum machine & will continue to be in the future.

BARBIE SOUNDTRACK! SUMMER DAYS? NEXG GUITAR!

Hi! Everyone, Hope you are all ok. Welcome back to my music blog. As you may be aware the 'BARBIE' movie was released last month (July 2023). The soundtrack is a recordbreaker. It is the first film soundtrack to have 3 Top 5 songs in the UK charts simultaneously: 'Dance The Night'-DUA LIPA 'What Was I Made For?'- BILLIE EILISH 'Barbie World- NICKI MINAJ, AQUA & ICE SPICE It has 6 songs from the soundtrack in the Top 40  The first film soundtrack to score 3 Top 10 hits simultaneously was 'SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER' (1978).
