ZOOM R12! IK MULTIMEDIA TONE X! A MUSICAL!

 Hi! Everyone & welcome back to my music blog. 

ZOOM are back with a brand new 8 Channel digital porta-studio with FM Synth called: R12.

It features:

  • Touchscreen
  • XLR/ Jack combo inputs
  • Powered by AC adaptor, Batteries or USB
  • FM Synthesiser with 18 sounds
  • Effects (EQ, Compressor etc)
  • Built in Metronome
  • 48v (for condenser mics)

The price has not yet been announced (as of writing this)


IK MULTIMEDIA are back with some more guitar software: TONE X. This works with AMPLITUDE 5.     IN TONE X users can capture any amp, cabinet, combo or pedal using AI Technology. You can share your preset in the cloud. It's available in a few versions (including a free version). There is an app iOS app due to be released soon. I am interested in trying the iOS app when its released. TONE X does look good. I might give to try.

Everyone, this week's FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK is the very talented  singer-songwriter, musician  & producer JELLY CLEAVER JELLY CLEAVER Please introduce yourself I’m a singer-songwriter, jazz guitarist and producer. I’m also an activist and this really influences my music and the lyrics I write. I love lots of different genres so have quite an eclectic style and like to throw myself into different music scenes. When mixing you need to create space. It's so easy to keep adding different instruments when recording. However, when it comes to mixing you'll probably end up with 2 or more instruments fighting for the same frequency. So what do you do? Well, Firstly it depends on the instruments. Sometimes you may have to be harsh & think: "Do i really need these 2 parts or can i mute one (or even delete)?" This is what i normally do. Now maybe you're thinking: "What about using EQ?" Or "Why not use panning?" Yes i could use these tools. However is this additional sound going to add anything to the mix? Is this part necessary? If not, then im afraid the part either gets muted or deleted. A few days ago i was recording some vocals, for a middle 8 (on a new song).
