SONG INTROS?

As a songwriter, the intro needs to grab the listeners attention. However, you don't always need an intro e.g:

  • 'Hey Jude'-THE BEATLES
  • 'Royals'-LORDE
Both those songs start with vocals. A solo vocal can be a very powerful instrument as'A an intro

Other songs can start with the chord sequence from the Chorus. e.g:

  • 'Tonight'-LAW (When i wrote this song i came up with the chorus chord sequence first. I think that chord sequence was always going to be the intro as well. Hear the song in the video below)


  • 'All About That Bass'- MEGHAN TRAINOR
  • 'Build me up Buttercup'-THE FOUNDATIONS
  • 'Dancing Queen'-ABBA
  • 'Get The Party Started'-PINK
Also a song can start with a guitar intro e.g:

  • 'Day Tripper'- THE BEATLES
  • 'Enter Sandman'- METALLICA
  • 'Some on the Water'- DEEP PURPLE
  • 'Layla'- ERIC CLAPTON
Their  are quite a few songs that have a really good intro.

    CUBASE & LOGIC PRO X- BYPASS ALL PLUGINS!

    A few weeks ago someone posted in Facebook group about how to Bypass ALL plugins in Cubase 8.5. (As some of you may know i use Cubase 8.5 in the main studio). It's a lot quicker than turning off each individual plugin. Here's how to do this: CUBASE- Go to File  Key Commands  Mixer (Section) Bypass Inserts Type in box a key (e.g. B etc) Assign OK When you press that key all plugins should be bypassed on the mixer LOGIC PRO X- As far as i know at the moment you cannot just press one button/ key & turn all the plugins off simultaneously.     FAMOUS SAMPLES?

    If you've ever heard a song & thought "Hold on, I recognise some of this". Maybe that's because the song you are listening to contains a sample of another song.
