1.Please introduce yourself
Hi, my name is Tara Drouin and I am a singer/songwriter and bass player in the band Iridesense.

2. How did you get into music?
I was raised in a musical family. My mom sang and played guitar with us since we were young. When I graduated high school I took a guitar class in college, and started writing poetry. Those poems were later turned into songs, when I began co-writing with my brother, and my friend Rob.

3. What instruments do you play?
I play the bass guitar primarily. I can also play guitar and piano, but more for fun than anything.

4. Who are your influences?
I grew up listening to lots of classic rock such as the Eagles, Foreigner, and Billy Joel. I am definitely influenced by a lot of the music form the 80's, like Blondie, Pat Benatar, and The Cure.

5. Tell us about your latest release
Our latest release is called Thought Parade. It's an EP with our songs The Line, My Revelation, and Mind Control Society on it. Each song has a message, or commentary about life. The Line is a rock song, about how you can be pulled in different directions of doing to the right thing or the wrong thing. My Revelation is all about the day to day, and how running from your problems never really solves anything. Mind Control Society is an anti-fracking song. We are living in a society where many bad things get over looked, and we are supposed to keep quiet about it. Through music we can try and inspire change.

6. Whats your songwriting process?
We all write separately and together. Sometimes the ideas start out as a chord progression, and then I hear a melody, and write lyrics for it. Other times Rick, or myself will come to rehearsal with a completed song, and the band will arrange it together.

7. Which musician/ artist would you most like to collaborate with & why?
I would love to collaborate with Sara Bareilles or maybe John Mayer. They are both really great lyricists, and write strong melodies.

8. If you were on a desert island what 3 musical gear would you take?
I would need an acoustic guitar, an acoustic bass, and maybe even a conga, because you always need some rhythm.

9. Where can fans find your music (links etc)?
 You can find us at:

I would like to say a huge thank you to TARA DROUIN for taking part in this weeks 'Featured Artist of the Week' 😀😀

Until next time

A few weeks ago someone posted in Facebook group about how to Bypass ALL plugins in Cubase 8.5. (As some of you may know i use Cubase 8.5 in the main studio). It's a lot quicker than turning off each individual plugin. Here's how to do this: CUBASE- Go to File  Key Commands  Mixer (Section) Bypass Inserts Type in box a key (e.g. B etc) Assign OK When you press that key all plugins should be bypassed on the mixer LOGIC PRO X- As far as i know at the moment you cannot just press one button/ key & turn all the plugins off simultaneously. You can row by row.  Here's a quick video tutorial : Hope this helps Until next time Law Official Website LW Music Services Twitter Facebook (Law) Facebook (LW Music Services) Youtube Instagram Soundbetter
